Because of its great strength and durability, Jarrah was used to pave the streets of London and provide sleepers for the London underground, as well as for shipbuilding, jetties, housing construction and a variety of structural uses.

Jarrah is highly resistant to damp, rot, fungoid growth, fire, termite and marine borers and is impervious to most acids. Jarrah is not affected by corrosive atmospheres and, consequently, it can be used in a variety of environmental conditions.  Jarrah bridges are a perfect example of beauty working in concert with strength.
